What I have always really wanted to ask a CO or DO is if they knew about Charles Russell, 1914 & the pyramids. I sometimes wonder if they really knew where he got that date from, I’m sure that there must be one or two that do know and how do they feel about still teaching the Lie, they’ll probably just say the usual "wait on Jehovah…" thingy.

Worst use of "Jehovah" instead of Lord in NWT Christian GRK scriptures?
by oompa innwt (acts 7:55-60) 55 but he, being full of holy spirit, gazed into heaven and caught sight of gods glory and of jesus standing at gods right hand, 56 and he said: "look!
i behold the heavens opened up and the son of man standing at gods right hand.
"57 at this they cried out at the top of the voice and put their hands over their ears and rushed upon him with one accord.

Yes, you have a very good point. And it would be difficult for the WTS to backtrack this one.

Just finished reading Crises of Conscience (4th Edition)
by restrangled ini read coc 15 years ago and it was an eye opener, but feel i must have read it through jw veiled thinking.. after reading the updated version it left my brain reeling.
the comparison of the un debacle with what happened to the mexico/malawi episode explains a lot.. i remember so many of the rules that came down to the rank and file while i was growing up.
the reminder of the 1975 horsesh*t was nausiating...i lived through it, was df'd the first week of january 1975 and then it was reversed in march of 1975. my parents were desperate to save my 16 year old life.

Question: Who Owns the Kingdom Halls and land?
by brojo ini have a question.
who actually owns the kingdom halls in the us?
the local congregation (which has paid or is paying the mortgage) or the wt society?
-
The Lone Ranger
The society owns them, and it makes sense too that they own them. A long time ago it use to be that the Title of the Land and Hall was in the name of the local elder or elders, but as it happens so often, elders go ‘bad’ and the WTS did loose some land and KH’s from elder’s who refused to hand the title over once they left the WTS. So as much as we might hate the WTS it makes sense that the title is always in the name of the WTS and if any of the locals brothers think that they own the building that they built and paid for then, they are fools. What if over time the local elders and brothers move as is mostly the case, over a few years you can get situations where the whole B.O.E has changed and half of the publishers has also changed, does the land and kingdom hall moved with them? Of course not. It doesn’t matter who builds it or pays for it, the WTS owns it and the local brothers are free to use it as long as they stay JW’s.

DID ADAM AND EVE HAVE A BELLY BUTTON?
by badboy inif they won't,at what point did human have a belly buton.. what is jw viewpoint on subject?
.

The Lone Ranger
When you consider the origins and purpose of the belly button, the answer must be NO, but their children would have to have one. Adam and Eve would be the only pair who were not born but created.

I have another XJW advice article if anyone could use it
by IsaacJS2 inhttp://www.atheistgeeknews.com/xjw04whytheyactweird.shtml.
i tried to explain some of the bizarre behavior and conversations that exxers like us have to go through with wt friends and family.
a lot of us find it hard to stand up to the parents, the elders, and all that, especially because we tend to see them as innocently "doing what they think is right" or "meaning well.

The reason why JW's over react is simple, they are told to act in this way by the GB. The GB twist’s and turns scriptures to support their actions, and the only reason for this, is that the GB wants to silence any that leave the WTS.

"Thy Kingdom Come..."
by AGuest into the household of god, israel, and all who go with, may you have peace!
i am compelled by the spirit of our lord, jaheshua mischajah, son and christ of the most holy one of israel, whose name is jah of armies, to share the following truth with you.
true, we hate suffering and pain, but all of mankind does, whether they belong to the christ or not, whether they are righteous or unrighteous.

how long will the sunday meetings be now?
by The Lone Ranger inmaybe this has being discussed already but i was thinking that now that the public talks will be 30mins instead of 45mins, and there is a new wt arrangement, it will stand to reason that the wt articles might be shorter, i can't see the sense of cutting the public talk and wt meeting for just 15 mins from 2 hours to 1.45hours, unless the wt articles will be shorter as well, and the whole sunday meeting will be cut by 30mins, to 1.5 hours.
any thoughts on this?.
